The 2011 FETF Conference at the Capitol was a great success. On June 18, a group of parents, siblings, guardians, caregivers and self-advocates who receive services from DDS gathered in the Old Judiciary Room of the Connecticut State Capitol Building to plan specific actions for the coming year.

Thank you all who attended our pot luck picnic at Hammonasset Beach State Park on September 17, 2011 - especially DDS Commissioner Terri Macy, who spoke personally with each of the families at this event.

Families testified at a Public Hearing on the PROVISION OF SELECTED SERVICES FOR CLIENTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES on September 27, 2011.

Families attended a class on ESSENTIALS OF LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY by The Keep The Promise Coalition on October 5 and 12, 2011.  We are now condensing this two-day course into a 90-minute module for local meetings.

A group of families attended the 2011 Convention of the Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress, where DDS Commissioner Macy and Arc Executive Director Pam Fields discussed the future of adult services.
